Michael Smith

Mr. Smith is a writer, performer, musician, and educator currently based in Kansas City, MO. For more than thirty years he has labored to hone his craft and bring his vision to his communities and the world. Michael is the co-author of the Coterie's Dramatic Sexual Health Project, the largest STD/HIV awareness campaign in the Midwest, of which he is also a director, and the winner of Planned Parenthood's Sexuality Educator of the Year award in 2004. He is also the author of the Coterie’s Project Daylight, an interactive theatre/wellness hybrid currently touring schools and aimed at stemming the horrible tide of teen suicide. Michael was the founder of the Monarch Conservatory of Performing Arts, and for four years led their theatre department, teaching acting, improv, and musical theatre and guitar lessons. Michael is the host of Mr. Michael Presents, a YouTube series promoting reading and the love of books in young people.
