    Meghann is a theater producer, director, facilitator with 18 years of experience in theatre for young audiences (TYA) and nonprofit management.

  • Mike Horner

    Mike has been a creative force with Mesner Puppets since 2006. He is a principal puppeteer for the company as well as the lead puppet builder and designer. Mike performs in Mesner Puppets' annual season of shows and tours nationally and internationally.

  • Alex Espy

    Alex is an educator, director, producer, and actor who has dedicated his career to developing work for young people. He spent three years as a resident artist at St Mark's preschool. Alex combines his knowledge of early childhood development and theatre making to create our education programs.

  • Da'Lene DePriest

    Associate Producer, Puppeteer, Builder, Teaching Artist

    The artist, know locally as Day, has spent her life painting, sculpting, and creating, bringing the arts and puppets to the Kansas City Metro area. Over the last 14 years you may have met her as a gallery owner, a teaching artist, a performer, a costumer, and a puppet builder. Currently she is the artist and imaginator at Soulbird Studios. Her favorite missions include putting the A back in S.T.E.A.M, and teaching kids of all ages to use their imagination.

    She considers it her sacred duty to bring Imagination back.

  • Kris Kirkwood

    Associate Producer, Lighting Designer

    Kris is a Lighting, Media, and Projections Designer based in KC MO. "I am happy and proud to be a member of the MPT family". He works with several theatre, opera, and live events organizations all over the US. Recent work (pre-Covid) beyond MPT includes projects with Pensacola Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Inland Northwest Opera, Bar Harbor Music Festival,Cumberland County Playhouse, Lexington Philharmonic, as well as the Unicorn, the Coterie, and other Kansas City companies. "Im grateful to my wife Jen, our daughter, and our families for their support."

  • Jon Roberston

    Composer, Sound Designer

    Jon Robertson is a composer and sound designer based in Kansas City. Currently an adjunct instructor at Missouri Western State University Cinema and Music Technology departments, he has previously taught at UMKC and KCAI. He composes for film and theatre, as well as working as a recording engineer, and sound designer. He currently works with theatres and production companies creating high-quality audio content for online media during the COVID-19 era. 

  • Zachary Garner

    Puppeteer, Builder

    Zach has worked with Mesner Puppets for 12 years as a puppet builder, designer, and performer sometimes doing all three at the same time. In addition to his work with Mesner Puppets he has his own characters that he has created and has been asked to perform at school events and church. Zachery is in college and is earning a degree in Theater, he is also one of the newest members of the Kansas City Improv Company. Zach hopes to one day create his own company and continue to push the art of puppetry to new heights.
